How to choose who can comment on your post in Facebook?

On Facebook, you can control your post to Public (everyone can see), Friends (only friends can see), only certain friends can see or only you can see. In addition, you can also control who can comment on your public posts.

Usually when a post goes viral, unnecessary and unwanted comments arrive. Facebook's comment control feature will block such comments to some extent. When you want only your friends and relatives to be able to comment on a post or you want no one to comment on a post, then this feature will be very useful.

How to control your Facebook comments?

Facebook comments can be controlled in different ways. In some cases, your post can be seen, but not be able to comment, and in some cases, the post can be made invisible. It has been discussed how to make a person who is not a friend see the post, but cannot comment.

  1. First open Facebook app.
  2. Then tap on the profile icon at the top right. And go to the bottom and go to Settings and Privacy option.
  3. After doing this, tap on Settings option.
  4. Then tap on the option of 'Audience and Visibility' and go to the option of Followers and Public Content.
  5. After doing this, go to the option of 'Public post comments'.

There are three options here: Public, Friends and Friends of Friends. Public means anyone can comment on your post. Friends of friends means you can comment from the account of the person who has an ad with you. And, the option of friends means that only people who are added to you can comment. This option applies to all Facebook posts that choose one of these options.

If you want to allow only limited people to comment on a limited post, follow the below procedure:

  • First, open the Facebook app. And go to your timeline.
  • Then select the post you want to limit comments.
  • After doing this go to the post you shared. And tap on the three dots on the right side.

And, go to Edit Privacy. From there, choose who can see the post. In this option, you can make the person who has an ad not to see the post.

Previously, there was an option of 'Who can comment on your post' for every post on Facebook. However, now Facebook has removed that option.
